Homeopathy is a truly holistic approach to health; one that emphasises people rather than diseases. Homeopathy recognises that each person responds uniquely to the forces of their heredity and environment. The total pattern of mental, emotional and physical alterations from health (symptoms) are the indications of the body's effort to defend and heal itself. In order to perceive , a very thorough case taking session is an essential cornerstone of Rachael’s practice. Using classical Homeopathic methods, Rachael seeks to discover the unique characteristics of each individual. Since homeopathy acts upon the constitution as a whole, when a person becomes well through homeopathy they find improvements in their overall health.

HypnoBirthing Child Birth Educator

Melissa Spilsted
Bachelor of Education (BEd), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Certified HypnoBirthing Practitioner (HBCE), member of National Association of Childbirth Educators (NACE).

Melissa Spilsted has been certified by the HypnoBirthing® Institute in the United States of America, to teach HypnoBirthing® techniques to mothers and their birth companions. Most importantly she has successfully used the method herself three times and has had three beautiful, peaceful and calm natural births!

Melissa is a HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator (HBCE), a qualified teacher (B.Ed, B.Arts), a member of NACE (National Association of Childbirth Educators) and also writes for Mother and Baby Magazine in Australia.

 This is what she says…

“When pregnant with my first child, I must admit that I was quite fearful of the perceived ‘pain’ associated with labour and childbirth – everyone I met seemed to have a horror story to tell. When my husband and I attended antenatal classes they passed an epidural needle around the group - it was HUGE. I then read up on the different drugs offered during labour and was horrified to learn about the documented side effects for both mother and baby – not to mention the unknown ones.

I decided that there had to be another way. Women had been giving birth since the beginning of time – our bodies are so remarkably complex and well designed – I found it hard to believe that the childbirth process was so flawed! That is when I lucked upon HypnoBirthing®.

I was a bit sceptical at first, but thought I would give it a go - with only three weeks to go before my due date, my husband and I attended HypnoBirthing sessions. Thank goodness we did! There is no way that my births would have been so beautiful, smooth and calm without using the techniques of HypnoBirthing®.

I believe so strongly in the positive outcomes of using this method that I am now teaching it to others. It’s time for women to take back their power of the right to birth the way they want to, and this is absolutely possible with HypnoBirthing®. My dream is that all babies enter this world in a beautiful, calm and drug-free environment – the way nature intended."

Melissa has a passionate dedication to the beauty, simplicity and reliability of pure and natural birth. Melissa, herself is a mother of 3 sons (all Hypno-babies) and a step-daughter. Not surprisingly, clients find her style of relating and helping to be very honest, down-to-earth, nurturing, gentle and warm.

Melissa holds both group and individual HypnoBirthing® classes servicing Brisbane, Gold Coast and Northern NSW.

Homeaopth

Raia Barker

BA (Hons), Adv Dip (Hom)

Raia (pronounced Rye a) is a registered Homeopath. She has a background in the fields of psychology, education and public health, with a major focus on working with young people “at risk”.

Homeopathy is a system of natural medicine with a proven track record for safety and clinical effectiveness. It is acknowledged by the World Health Organisation, and is used by millions of people worldwide.  Homoeopathy is used in the treatment and management of chronic illness; is fast acting with acute conditions and can assist in balancing emotional states. It is a natural, holistic choice. Homeopathy can be safely taken alongside conventional medications if necessary.

Raia’s interest in health and healing became a passion when she was cured of an ‘incurable’ case of occupational overuse syndrome, through homeopathic medicines and effective nutrition. She is a graduate from the Sydney College of Homeopathic Medicine and is a registered member of the Australian Register of Homeopaths, www.aroh.com.au and the Australian Homeopathic Association, www.homeopathyoz.org

An initial homoeopathic consultation can take an hour and a half as there is a very through case taking – the goal being to select the most appropriate homoeopathic medicine to match with the totality of the client’s symptoms. Follow up consultations are usually only half an hour.
